PERC Club Info

The Prince Edward Radio Club in Prince Edward County, Ontario, was started in the 1980's to promote amateur radio activities, expand technical knowledge, and provide emergency radio communications as a public service. The club is affiliated with The Radio Amateurs of Canada.

PERC, jointly with The Quinte Amateur Radio Club, runs classes leading to an Industry Canada Amateur Radio Certificate, maintains a 2 metre repeater and is a participant in the Canwarn Eastern Severe Weather Watch.

There is an open chat net, called the Bay Bridge Net, every Tuesday at 7:30 pm on the club repeater, VE3TJU, 146.730. The net is named for the bridge that connects Prince Edward County to Belleville and is a joint operation of QARC and PERC. Everyone is invited to check in.

Club meetings are held at 7:30PM on the first Thursday of every month at the Bloomfield Town Hall on Main St in Bloomfield. Visitors are welcome and can get directions on VE3TJU from 7pm on meeting nights. Here is information on becoming an amateur radio operator ("ham").
