It was agreed that the meal and location were excellent, and Doug will make arrangements for the PERC Christmas Dinner 2013 to be held at the same location.

DISTRACTED DRIVING LEGISLATION

Art VE3 SQG reported that the Distracted Driving Legislation exemption for Amateur Radio operators has been extended to 2018.

CHANGES TO VE3RTR SYSTEM

VE3RTR is now part of the All Star Link System. This includes VE3RTR 145.150, VE3RTR 442.075 and VE3MXR 444.975. There is no longer a link to VE3TJU

NEW BUSINESS

Art VE3SQG spoke about new Android software Repeater Book that can link to Yaesu 817 & 857 radios to set repeater frequencies

Doug VE3ZDG reported that the Kingston Red Cross has relocated to 2790 Princess Street.

Field Day operations were discussed, and Dave VE3UGT noted that the attendance has dropped over the last few years, we need to know if this is because of the location or just a general lack of interest.

Kevin VA3THB noted that the 2012 site was good, but we need to do something to attract more attendance.

Part of the problem could be that there are not many HF operators in either club.

It was noted that the Schoolhouse at Huffs Island was still available, if the members were interested in going back there.

Art VE3SQG spoke about the Mississauga Amateur Radio Club operation, They have a Station Manager who has the responsibility of making sure there are enough Operators and Support crew available to cover the event.

Doug Ve3ZDG asked if it would be possible to get Scouts and/or Guides involved. The timing may be wrong for them as generally the groups do not meet regularly during the summer.

Eric VA3EP also suggested that the possibility of operating at Massassauga Point be investigated.
