Minutes of Prince Edward Radio Club – June 21st   2012

 

ATTENDANCE:  Bill VA3WOW, Art VE3SQG, Peter VE3UR,

 Al VE3FZ, Bob VE3QWB, Dave VE3UGT, Ralph VE3CSU, Matthew VE3OCC,

Kevin VA3THB, Tim VE3UO,

The meeting was called to order by President Art VE3SQG at 7:30 pm

 

Operating News

Dave VE3UGT reported that the portable tower has been moved to the front of his trailer, eliminating the need for a second trailer for use as a tower base.

 

MINUTES

It was moved by DaveVE3UGT andd seconded by Kevin VA3THB that “The minutes of the April 5th meeting be accepted.” CARRIED

 

NEW BUSINESS

Art VE3SQG spoke about the new meeting room, and noted that digital projection equipment was available for use. There is also room for more tables if meeting attendance increases. It was moved by Bill VA3WOW and Seconded by Bob VE3QWB “That the Wellington Library becomes the new meeting place of the Prince Edward Radio Club, and that the meeting night be changed to the third Thursday of the month. CARRIED

Art VE3SQG noted that The Tour of the County will still end at the Bloomfield Town Hall as the fees there have been paid until the end of the year.

 

ARES

BillVA3WOW reported that he had participated in the Frontenac exercise on June 5th operating from Plevna  and  Matt VE3OCC had operated from Wolf Island although the officials there did not take part in the exercise.

 

PERC PICNIC

The date for the picnic will be August 25th 2012

 

FIELD DAY

Matt VE3OCC and Doug VE3ZDG will take care of the incoming and outgoing messages for the Field Day.

Bob VE3QWB will send out a press release to the local media, and Al VE3FZ will look after the scoring.

The operation will be class 2A with Matt VE3OCC operating the VHF/UHF station.

There are not planned to be digital modes operating at the moment.

Al VE3FZ suggested that everyone bring a headset and some ¼ to 1/8 adaptors.

Matt and Eric will provide the generators for the weekend.
