Minutes of Prince Edward Radio Club – July 19th 2012
ATTENDANCE: Art VE3SQG, Peter VE3UR, Eric VA3EP Al VE3FZ, Matthew VE3OCC, Aaron VE3UDA, Peter VA3ORU Kevin VA3THB, Tim VE3UO,Gilbert VA3NQ, Doug VE3ZDG The meeting was called to order by President Art VE3SQG at 7:35 pm
Operating News Doug VE3ZDG reported that he had attended the Blackfly repeater meeting with VA3WOW There are currently only fifteen members and they are looking for a different location for the repeater. Al VE3FZ took part in the RAC Canada Day Contest there was a fair amount of activity, but conditions were poor.
MINUTES It was moved by Kevin VA3THB and seconded by Tim VE3UO that “The minutes of the June 21st meeting be accepted.” CARRIED
TREASURERS REPORT
Treasurer Al VE3FZ presented the 2nd quarter 2012 financial report. (Attached) Moved by Doug VE3ZDG Seconded by Gilbert VA3NQ that the Treasurers Report be accepted. CARRIED In addition Al reported that the Bloomfield Town Hall was no longer booked other than for the Tour of The County foxhunt, and that a portable Toilet for Field Day had been rented at a cost of $102.02. QARC and PERC will each pay $51.01.
PERC PICNIC The date for the picnic will be August 25th 2012 and it will be held at the Law residence 96 Goodman Crescent. Bring lawn chairs and a dessert or salad.
FIELD DAY Art VE3SQG asked if there were any comments re Field Day, and thanked Kevin VA3THB for the spectacular meals. It was noted that set up went very well, the improvements Dave VE3UGT made to his Tower/Trailer made it a very smooth process. Around 500 stations were worked. Al VE3FZ noted that for next year every station should have two headphone jacks for the Operator and the Logger. The antennas worked well, and the CW station operation was all done by computer
NEW BUSINESS Art VE3SQG donated a new Hamilton Beach industrial duty Coffee maker to the club for use at meetings and special events. Doug VE3ZDG reported that there would be a table top exercise at the new EOC in the Hallowell Fire Hall On September 29th It has not been determined if there will be any ARES participation.
