Operating conditions were discussed with VE3OX noting the poor Sunspot conditions, and Paul VE3PVB talking about poor propagation for the Sandbox Net. Mike also spoke about some members trying some 6M contacts on Monday evenings at 8:00 pm Check the QARC Yahoo group for details. It was moved by Joe VA3JLF that the minutes of April 1 2010 be approved. Seconded by Tim VE3UO CARRIED ARES Bill VA3WOW spoke about the ARES meeting held at Essroc, and reported that a web page for ARES in Loyalist District will be designed by Matt VE3OCC. There would be a fee for a domain name registration, and it was suggested PERC and QARC split the $10 cost. It was moved by David VE3STI and seconded by Mike VE3OX that PERC pay $5.00 as half of this registration CARRIED Bill VA3WOW also reported that Tyandinaga Fire Department has approached ARES re a demonstration of amateur radio at an Emergency Drill being held at the Community Centre in Melrose. Doug VE3ZDG and Tim VE3UO have installed a “mag mount” antenna on the steel roof of the Red Cross building in Belleville. Communications between this location and VE3TJU was excellent, but the signal into Kingston needs some improvement. NEW BUSINESS Davis VE3STI spoke about the possibility of having a club kit project. Something fairly simple like a key kit could probably be built for $10.00 A recent QST had an article about building an Amp/Hour meter, these kits could be built at club meetings as a group or could be taken home for completion. FIELD DAY PLANNING The clubs will have to decide if we are going to operate 2A or 3A, and determine if VE3GSI will attend as he is a mainstay of the CW operation . Kevin VA3THB will order the Porta Potty for the site. TOUR OF THE COUNTY It was reported that six teams participated in the event and that everyone had a good day.
