Bill VA3WOW reported that he and Bob VE3QWB were taking an emergency management course,
and Art Ve3Sqg noted that propagation was improving for HF users.
Bill VA3WOW said he had noticed Twitter accounts being used to report DX
Dave VE3UGT said he had read an article about portable hilltop operations that were using cell phones to list themselves on twitter.
He also noted that he had heard from Hydro1 that the high voltage line running by his house was not out when the house hydro went off, so it has been eliminated as the noise generator. He did however discover that a DVD player in his house is creating noise.  David VE3STI noted that at his clinic there was noise from a local transformer, and no reception of broadcast stations.
Ian VE3EP told the members that weather information was being reported on the internet
It was moved by VE3QWB and seconded by VA3UGT that the minutes of the February 4th meeting be approved. Carried

Old Business

Eric VA3EP reported Matt has written his advanced licence and passed with flying colours
Art advised the members that the battery on the generator at the repeater site was discharging
faster than the monthly generator tests were topping up the batteries. A trickle charger is needed to keep the batteries topped up. David Ve3STI spoke about the gasoline in the generator, and asked if it was changed or mixed with stabilizer, as he had heard the newer gasoline formulations deteriorate quickly.
Eric will be ordering the antenna loops for the members who have indicated they wanted one.
Eric said that it was time to vote on the Field day Site. After much discussion it was decided that
Last years site at VA3EP’s residence be used again.
Moved by Bill VA3WOW Seconded by Kevin VA3THB Carried.
